Health IT Adoption Specialist
Under direction of the Vice President, the Health I.T. Adoption Specialist is responsible for working with physicians and clinicians to help them adopt HIXNY’s secure, electronic service for exchanging health information among hospitals and doctors in the Capital Region and Northern NY as well as its other service offerings such as electronic prescribing. This individual will also support HIXNY’s end users by conducting frequent in person visits, implementation planning meetings, creating account plans and training sessions. The Adoption Specialist will be an important point of contact for end user support and service. HIXNY is seeking a person with the personality and skill set that will be embraced by the physician community and seen as a positive advocate for HIXNY.
Major Responsiblities
- Help clinicians adopt HIXNY’s clinical solutions (HIE solutions, e-Prescribing, and other programs being developed)
- Conduct frequent meetings with HIXNY’s stakeholders, clinicians, and practice managers throughout the HIXNY service area to assess their needs and provide them with information about HIXNY and its offerings
- Develop adoption strategies, account plans, and document implementation guides with stakeholders
- Document HIXNY products and services, including preparation of user manuals and training materials
- Create and conduct end user training for groups and individual users
- Provide end user support for HIXNY applications
- Collect product and service feedback to inform program strategy
- Attend and support HIXNY committee and membership meetings as required
Experience and Educational Requirements
Required

Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in provider relations, practice management, or health IT outreach
Desirable
- Broad knowledge of the New York health care system including payers, hospitals, and providers
- Previous experience in developing account management plans
- Previous experience designing and executing training curriculums
- Familiarity with healthcare consumer privacy compliance requirements

- Good personal computing skills, including expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Positive outlook and collaborative in nature
- Belief in HIXNY’s organizational purpose
- Reliable vehicle and valid New York State driver’s license are necessary
Work Environment
- Full-time position offering competitive salary and benefits
- Frequent travel required within HIXNY's 17-county service area in Northeast New York
- Will consider candidates who wish to work from a home office based in the HIXNY service area (preferably in or near the NY Capital Region)
- Up to 75% of time will be spent out of the HIXNY office with end users in their environments
- Occasional On-call availability and periodic overtime
