HIXNY Elects Board of Directors for 2010

 

ALBANY, NY (January 12, 2010) - Healthcare Information Xchange of New York (HIXNY), a not-for-profit organization comprised of local physician groups, hospitals, health care associations, health plans, institutions of higher learning, government, employers and other healthcare entities announced today that its membership has elected a new board of directors for 2010.  The 15 directors are elected by the membership classes represented in HIXNY including payers, physicians, hospitals, government/education, consumers and employers.

 

Directors elected by the payer class include Dr. Bruce Nash, Capital District Physicians' Health Plan, Inc.; Dr. Lynda Karig Hohmann, Blue Shield of Northeastern New York/Health Now; Dr. Jerry Salkowe, MVP Health Care; and Paul Macielak, New York Health Plan Association.

 

Directors elected by the physician class include Dr. Louis Snitkoff, CapitalCare Medical Group; Dr. Kallanna Manjunath, Whitney M Young, Jr. Health Services; Dr. John Rugge, Hudson Headwaters Health Network; and Sumeet Murarka, Community Care Physicians.

 

Directors elected by the hospital class include George Hickman, Albany Medical Center; Dr. John Collins, Northeast Health Systems;  Paul Milton, Ellis Hospital; and James DeGroff, St. Mary's Hospital (Amsterdam).

 

The director elected by the government/education class is Philip Nasca, State University of New York at Albany School of Public Health.

 

The director elected by the consumer class is Bridget Walsh, Schuyler Center for Analysis & Advocacy.

 

The director elected by the employer class is F. Michael Tucker, Center for Economic Growth.
