HIXNY Elects Board Officers for 2010

Local Physician Leads Organization

 

 

ALBANY, NY (February 2, 2010) -Healthcare Information Xchange of New York (HIXNY), a not-for-profit organization comprised of local physician groups, hospitals, health care associations, health plans, institutions of higher learning, government, employers and other healthcare entities announced today that its membership has elected new officers for its board of directors.  For the third year, the board will be led by local physician Louis S. Snitkoff of CapitalCare Medical Group.

 

The HIXNY officers include:

 

Chairman Louis S. Snitkoff, MD, FACP - Dr. Louis Snitkoff is a board certified Internist and a founding member of CapitalCare Medical Group where he now serves as medical director and oversees medical services and quality initiatives.  In addition to chairman, Dr. Snitkoff serves as a member of the executive, finance, clinical, membership & communications, technology, planning, governance & nominating, and legal & compliance committees.

 

Vice Chairman John Collins, MD - Dr. John Collins is a board certified General Internist and   the chief medical officer for Northeast Health Systems where his responsibilities include oversight of quality across both the acute care and long term care divisions of the system.  Dr. Collins serves as a member of the executive, membership & communications, and clinical committees.

 

Secretary Jerry Salkowe, M.D. - Dr. Jerry Salkowe is vice president for clinical quality improvement at MVP Healthcare.  He is also clinical associate professor for the SUNY School of Public Health and clinical assistant professor for Albany Medical College.  Dr. Salkowe serves on the clinical, planning, and executive committees.

 

Treasurer Bridget Walsh - Bridget Walsh is a senior policy associate for the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy where her work encompasses all aspects of health including public health, Medicaid, and the uninsured.  Ms. Walsh serves on the executive and finance committees.
