System Capabilities & Participation

HIXNY’s system capabilities include:

  • Medication history from RxHub, SureScripts and HIXNY member systems
  • Patient demographic and allergy data
  • Community-wide e-Prescribing solution
  • Progress notes, laboratory results, New York State Medicaid data, eligibility\benefits information and discharge summaries (future elements)

No special computer equipment is required to use HIXNY. Once a provider has been authorized to participate, all they need is Internet access.

 

Participation Levels in HIXNY

  • During initial rollout in 2008, HIXNY members will have access to patient medication history, previous visit information, allergies and patient demographics, plus access to an e-Prescribing solution
  • Non-HIXNY members will be able to use the e-Prescribing solution

Future enhancements will include access to lab and radiology reports, progress notes, and integration with patients' personal health records (PHRs) from third parties.
