HIXNY Support for "Meaningful Use"

Eligible health care professionals can earn financial incentives for meeting the federal government’s criteria for the “meaningful use” of certified electronic health record EHR technology.

Financial incentives will be available through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and are authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

Relevant HIXNY Offerings

Eligible providers can take advantage of several current HIXNY offerings that are relevant to CMS' proposed definition for meeting meaningful use criteria:

  • HIXNY HealthyView provides secure, online access to community-wide patient medical data
  • HIXNY HealthyDocs allows healthcare providers to communicate electronic results and reports, leading to more efficient workflow and improved patient care
  • HIXNY HealthyTalk allows healthcare providers to send secure messages to other providers through the HIXNY health information exchange (HIE) web portal or to EMR systems integrated with the HIE
  • HIXNY HealthyScripts is a community-wide e-prescribing solution accessible standalone or through the HIE

HIXNY is also evaluating the provision of additional services to assist providers, including reporting quality measures to CMS, submitting data to immunization registries, providing public health reporting, and assisting providers in evaluating and implementing EHRs, among others.
